Response of Catharanthus roseus cv. ‘Pacifica XP’ to Adding Copper and Foliar Spraying with Benzoic and Salicylic Acids

Abstract The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse at the University of Diyala’s Research Station for Department Horticulture and Landscaping College Agriculture during 2020–2021 academic year. Experiments were conducted on Catharanthus roseus cv. ‘Pacifica XP’ from November 24, 2020, to June 1, 2021, effects adding copper 0, 30, 45, 60 mg L -1 , foliar spraying with benzoic salicylic acids concentrations 20 40 mgL along distilled water as control treatment, analyzed. A factorial (54) three replications using randomized complete block design (RCBD). Results showed that all vegetative biochemical characteristics-including leaf number, area, chlorophyll content, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, total carbohydrates, phenolic acids, vincristine, vinblastine, vindeline, catharanthine content-were significantly improved by addition concentration . Number leaves, dry weight percentage nitrogen potassium content acid vinblastine leaves found improve after number affected interaction treatments between copper, benzoic, treatment BA40Cu60 yielding best results. characteristics phosphorous percentages, carbohydrates contents favored SA40Cu60 whereas vincristine BA20SA40 treatment.
